What insights can be garnered about two border cities by looking at random images posted to social media from those localities? Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas share a river, ecosystem, and border. Each side of the projection displays a randomly selected image posted to Instagram using the location-id of one of the two cities. One side uses a data set of 43,269 images from Ciudad Juárez and the other draws on 101,299 images from El Paso. The images were posted to the platform between September and December 2019.
